In line with the vision of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has organized a Ministerial Award/Recognition ceremony for deserving staff .
Speaking at the occasion, in Abuja, lo, said that the initiative was aimed at providing a robust reward system to encourage productivity and boost institutional performance. According to him, the Head of Service of the Federation is driving a cultural change in the Federal Civil Service in the Country.
He highlighted other reward schemes by the Federal Government to includes: Integrated Housing Scheme (FISH), the Federal Civil Service Entrepreneurship Program, Group Life Assurance Administration, among others.
Giving a brief background on the Ministerial Award/Recognition Ceremony, the Director of Administration in the Ministry, Mr. Emmanuel Oka Ukpai said “this ministerial staff award/recognition ceremony is the second of its kind in the ministry to honour hard working and dedicated staff in order to serve as a source of encouragement and Moral booster to all.”
In his appeal to the Permanent Secretary in presenting to the Head of Civil Service of Federation incorporation of award/recognition of best performing Permanent Secretaries , in the same vein, the Head of Civil Service of Federation should appeal to Mr. President to replicate same to Federal Executive Council Members. This will complete the 360 degree circle which is being incorporated into the system.
He further said that the award was aimed at providing a comprehensive and robust reward system that would improve personnel productivity and boost institutional world class service delivery.
In response, one of the recipients, Alhaji Dauda Nma Mohammed, appreciated the Ministry for the award and recognising them for their contribution to the growth of the Ministry.
