DR. NWAEZE OFFOR AFAM EMERGES BEST STAFF AT THE 2026 MINISTERIAL AWARD CEREMONY OF FMBEP
Dr. Nwaeze Offor Afam an Assistant Director with the Macro Analysis Department of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has emerged as the overall best Staff at the 2026 Ministerial Award ceremony in recognition of his demonstration of excellence and commitment to public service at a ceremony held in the Ministry’s premises today.
Mr. Nwaeze emerged the overall best under the Service Wide Award Selection Committee Assessment with an outstanding score of 98%.
The Honourable Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning Dr. Doris Uzoka – Anite while giving her remarks at the occasion, said the Ministerial awards offered a valuable opportunity to recognize officers who have distinguished themselves through innovation, performance, leadership, commitment to duty, courage, inclusiveness and exemplary service. She also noted that the awards reflect a conviction that diligence, integrity and excellence in the performance of official duties merit recognition and commendation.
The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning Dr. Deborah Odoh while making remarks noted that Staff welfare is one of the pillars of the Federal Civil Service Strategy Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025, designed to transform the public service into a productive, world class and digitalized institution, hence the need to reward Staff today.
According to the Director Human Resource Management Dr. Esther Olatunji, Mr. Nwaeze was selected after a careful selection process by the Ministerial Awards Committee that was guided by fairness, transparency, objectivity, consistency and merit. Other criteria covered patriotic commitment, productivity, integrity, efficiency, dedication, adherence to core values, creativity and innovation as well as punctuality and regularity.
While congratulating Mr. Nwaeze, the Director Human Resource Management Department noted that, “Your recognition is both an honour and a responsibility to
sustain the standards that earned you this distinction”
