On Thursday, 2nd October, 2025, the National Coordinator of the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity Governance Programme (HOPE-Gov), Dr. Assad Hassan, led members of the National Programme Coordination Unit to the HOPE Primary Health Care (HOPE-PHC) office for a strategic mini workshop. The engagement was aimed at deepening coordination between the two programmes in order to maximize resources, avoid duplication, save time, and ensure impactful results for citizens.

The National Coordinator of HOPE-PHC, Dr. Muntaqa Umar Sadiq, also led his team to the session, which produced rich exchanges and actionable insights.

In attendance were key partners from the World Bank, including the HOPE-Gov Technical Team Lead and Public Sector Specialist, Mr. Ikechukwu Nweje; the Senior Health Specialist, Dr. Ritgak Tilley-Gyado; and the Operations Officer, Global Governance Practice, Ms. Helen Ogochukwu Okeke, alongside other stakeholders who participated both physically and virtually.

A major outcome of the workshop was the agreement to establish a joint committee comprising members from both HOPE-Gov and HOPE-PHC. The committee will be responsible for harmonizing approaches, driving further engagements, and ensuring seamless implementation of the programmes for greater efficiency and measurable impact.
