YUGUDA URGES FG, STATES COLLABORATION ON JOB CREATION POLICIES

The Supervising Minister of National Planning, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, has called for strategic collaboration between the Federal and State governments towards initiating appropriate policies and programmes for job creation and ensuring equality income distribution.
Ambassador Yuguda made this call last weekend in Bauchi at the meeting of the National Council on Development Planning (NCDP), which he presided over with States' Commissioners of Planning/Chairmen of Planning Agencies as members.

The Supervising Minister of National Planning, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda has reiterated the importance of accurate and credible data in strategic development plans in order to make better decision for enhanced policy making.
Amb Yuguda said "it is even more important for us at the National Planning Commission, especially given that we need accurate data to get our strategic development plans right and also to make better decision for enhanced policy making"

The Federal Government has reassured the international community of the safety of all participants during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Africa meeting scheduled to hold in Abuja next month.
The Supervising Minister of National Planning, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda who made this known at a briefing in his office on Thursday, April 17, 2014, also thanked the international community for their implicit confidence on the country and its economy, adding that the Government is doing its best to protect its citizens as well as foreigners.
EDUCATION, KEY TO REALISING NV20:2020 SAYS PLANNING MINISTER AS 20TH NIGERIAN ECONOMIC SUMMIT OPENS IN ABUJA

Supervising Minister of National Planning, Bashir Yuguda, has described education as key to realising the NV20:2020, as the 20th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES#20), opened in Abuja with a focus on transforming education sector.
The theme for NES#20 is "Transforming Education Through Partnerships for Global Competitiveness"
It is an annual Summit being organised jointly by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group
REBASING NIGERIA'S GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP)

NBS has completed nine sectoral surveys to be used as key inputs in the rebased GDP estimates: Transportation, Real Estate, Private Education, Construction, Hotels, Manufacturing, Mining, Private Health Services, and Business Services. Results from the surveys are currently undergoing internal validation after which external experts by sector are expected to join NBS for technical discussions on the survey results.
